Rajasthan: Unknown people tried to crush protesters in Barmer, arson and violence in protest


During the ongoing sit-in demonstration demanding employment to the local people in the refinery of Barmer district, an attempt was made to crush the people who were going to give a memorandum by ramming their vehicles. Some vehicles were also hit and damaged by the vehicles. The dispute between the two parties escalated after the incident. The dispute escalated so much that stone pelting took place from both sides and after that many vehicles were set ablaze. Seeing the progress of the matter, including Balotra Pachpadra police station, ASP, DSP and other officials also reached the spot and pacified the matter by removing the crowd.

In fact, a sit-in protest was going on for the last several days demanding to install vehicles in the refinery and to provide employment to the local people and today one side reached to give a memorandum, during which the other side also reached there and they started driving the vehicles to scare one side. Due to which there was a tussle between both the sides and after the dispute there was stone pelting and 2 vehicles were set on fire, after which the police and administration who reached the spot intervened and pacified the matter. At present, heavy police force has been deployed on the spot in view of law and order and top police officers have taken a stand on the spot.
