Stock Market: Flat start of the market amid mixed global signals, Sensex-Nifty decline

Stock Market: SGX Nifty (SGX Nifty) openly indicated a sluggish start for the Indian benchmark index with losses.

Stock Market Opening: Today i.e. on December 8, the Indian stock market started trading on a flat note. Today, amid mixed global signals, major benchmark index Sensex and National Stock Exchange’s Nifty declined. The SGX Nifty opened with a loss of 18 points indicating a sluggish opening for the Indian benchmark indices. In early trade this morning, the BSE Sensex fell 20.35 points to 62,390.33 and the NSE Nifty fell marginally to 18,554.15.

Larsen & Toubro, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finserv, M&M and Apollo Hospitals were major gainers. While shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Motors, HDFC Life and TCS were trading with losses.

In the previous session, the BSE Sensex closed down 215.68 points at 62,410.68 and the Nifty closed down 82.25 points at 18,560.50.
